Sir,
In confirmation of our call of yesterday, we have
the honour to inform you that our Secretary, Mr Frank
Huxham is on his way to pay a commercial visit to China
and Japan, in our interests, and to request that you will
give him a letter of introduction to the Governor of
Hong Kong.
No doubt you are aware that we are large contracto
• to the war office, and we may say that our Chairman
(Mr Arthur Chamberlain) is the brother of the Colonial
Minister.
If it is possible, we should be glad if you would
mention these facts in your letter, as our object in
sending Mr Huxham out is to endeavour to extend our
reputation into these countries.
